What Causes Teeth to Crack?
Teeth can develop cracks due to a wide variety of reasons. Repetitive
chewing, chewing hard material, clenching or grinding teeth, injury
and even some extensive dental procedures can eventually lead to
fractures in the tooth.
What are the symptoms?
Patients may have difficulty pinpointing the cause of the discomfort.
Pain while chewing, sensitivity to cold or heat, and soreness are
often noted. If left untreated, the condition may lead to more serious
problems including nerve damage and abcesses.
What Can I do?
The dentist can usually pinpoint the problem area through dental
X-rays. A course of action can then be developed to ease the condition.
